Come Alive

Sometimes I find myself watching other people’s videos or reading other people’s writing, when what I really want to do is express my creativity. It’s a common phenomena and I am sure you can relate.

In the Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron says that shadow artists surround themselves with other artists. When you think of your nearest and dearest chosen friends, are they writers and photographers and dancers? Are they living out your dream life?

Perhaps you are reading my blog while you really wish you were writing your own. I understand. Thanks for being here and reading, anyway. 🙂 And if you really want to leave to go start your own…well, get going! I want you to come alive!

If you are still here, thanks, and maybe you will get inspired from what I have to say and it will be kindling for your fire. I get amazing ideas from those who share their gifts with the world. We can all ignite each other’s fires by showing up more fully.

This is what it’s all about. I think I’ve found the key to life, the Holy Grail, the purpose of living.

Come alive, show up, share yourself with the world as fully as you can! You don’t need to create a masterpiece, it doesn’t have to perfect, just let it all out!

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it! Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” -Howard Thurman

This is so true. Everywhere I go I am finding this message. It’s a sweet and simple truth.

We all just want to be known and seen and valued for who we are. This is why Avatar was such a big hit. Aside from the hot alien bodies and kinky horse-tail love-making thingy, we loved the saying,  I see you.

We are indoctrinated into a system (school) where we are taught to conform and fit in and follow rules and unfortunately that dilutes the magnificently unique gem that we are. It takes awhile in adult life to undo all our schooling and find our true authentic self, buried underneath all that society and our family put upon us.

All the rules we learned to follow become the molds we must break to be free.

They irony is that in all that learning to fit in and all that people pleasing we have done, what the world really needed was our full, unique and authentic self-expression.

Our bliss, our creativity, our money-making, lies in our pleasures and our passions. People will reciprocate the energy you give, appreciate you, and pay you, when you come alive with your passions. I believe this to be true and I am out to prove it.

I love when people are self-expressed. Don’t you? We just want to see others awake and alive. We want to feel passion and excitement and share in the joyful bliss that is our birthright.

Come Alive! I say. Come alive! We are creators here to express our unique gifts.

We are made of the same stuff that made everything. Creator created us to create. I think it is as simple as that and on we go, getting more efficient at recognizing that which we truly want, as we shed the skin of the snake that was our indoctrination in school.

Like Neo in The Matrix, we wake up to the illusion of the world we were born into, believing that we must be like everyone else, and we unplug, shed, let go and find the beating, red, heart beneath the surface that was pumping our truth all along.

We want passion, we want love, we want bold, unique expression of our desires! Burn! Burn up the old way, ignite the new, and give rise, my great friends, to the truest in you.

I want you. I want you so bad! I want you to come alive. Give me permission to get wild by waking up the Stallion in yourself!

Ride ’em Cowboy,

xoxo

Rachel, I want you, Claire.
