I’m reading the book, “There’s no such thing

I’m reading the book, “There’s no such thing as bad weather.”
.
It’s funny, as I resisted it for a long time. I think the cover, along with my mind, which kept saying, I don’t need to read about the weather…blah blah”
.
Ha! It’s a delightful book, chock full of great stats that are heavy for the heart but important.
.
I’ll spare you all the stats but one. The average American child spends 4-7 minutes a day playing outside. And 7 hours in front of a screen. 😳
.
Our children NEED nature like they need the air…time in nature is dwindling for many and it’s a way back to our sanity, connectedness, hearts, and selves. It’s vital, especially in times like these.
.

Here at the Linden Tree House, we’re outside every morning no matter the weather. Usually at least 2 hours, and in warmer months 4 hours per day.
.
It’s funny, as the adults all around say things like: “You’re out in this!?” Or, “You’re brave!”
.
But truly, especially here in Colorado, in the right clothing, there are no days where we can’t venture out.
.
I think we’ve got to change the culture and lean more toward time outside over time inside. Perhaps these last years have assisted that trend, albeit with blankets on faces, so that’s not what I’m talking about but ya get my drift.

This. This times a godzillion. This has been the learning of a lifetime. And after a lot of ups and downs, I’m finally in a place where I really feel like I can stay centered and not lose my cool and just really sit with Sophia‘s emotions and acknowledge them & validate them whatever they are.

I’ve sifted through a lifetime of thoughts about what I want to say, or what was said to me, or what she is definitely not allowed to say or feel. And now, I can accept it all & just extend my love. In this, both children are healed, my inner child & my daughter.

It's Saturday. I'm in my pjs, messy bun + my new favorite linen apron. The world is crazy + I can't do lots of things I might have done before but I'm MORE grateful than EVER.

Everywhere I look, I see blessings upon blessings. How lucky are we to have so much abundance!? We've got some work to do with waking up + smelling the coffee, but we're getting there, slowly but surely I think people see the Truth.
.
.
Some things I'm enjoying these days: linen, chai, diffusing oils, staying home, organic clothing, cooking cooking and cooking, fresh eggs daily, being with children (always) and reading Alice Hoffman's Prequel to Practical Magic. Yum!
