I just set my timer to write for 15 minutes. That got me thinking of the power of 15. Abraham says to meditate every day for just 15 minutes.
Kelly Notaras, in her new book, The Book You Were Born to Write, says write for just 15 minutes, at least.
When I exercise, I notice it takes only 15 minutes for me to feel those endorphins + start to sweat.
A 15 minute walk can change my whole day.
This is all good news, for as a busy mom and entrepreneur, I have to meet my goals in 15 minute increments.
And, for many of the spiritually talented, empathic + psychic women I work with, we get overwhelmed easily because we can see the BIG picture, we see all the pieces + parts and so we quit. It all just feels like too much.
I truly believe that one of the most important things we can do as busy people is to ensure that we know our top goals.
I’ve heard millionaire Russell Brunson talk about it like this: What’s the biggest domino you could push over that would make all the other domino’s fall?
For example, for me, my BIGGEST domino is writing.
If I could actually write more and finish a book, then that would take care of all the other things on my to do list- like increasing my visibility, reaching more people, sharing my message, making money…
So, it’s easy to get caught up in the notifications + dings in front of us. One simple interruption in your flow could mean lost time + not reaching goals or completing projects.
Now, more than ever, it’s vital that we be vigilant with the MOST PRECIOUS resource we have- our time/energy.
So, I’ve been setting the timer for 15 and meditating. Today, I’m setting it and writing. It actually works magic for cleaning your kitchen, too.
When I have a set time, a container, then I’m MUCH more likely to make progress and work because I don’t feel overwhelmed.
This is the idea behind the Pomodoro Technique which has changed my life. In this case, I set the timer for 25 minutes to work on one task.
So, the moral of the story is this: if you have BIG goals to accomplish, but you’re strapped for time, then block things out in 15 minute increments.
You can write your book, build your business, exercise, meditate, clean your kitchen, or cook a meal in 15 minutes.
Give yourself the gift of prioritizing what you desire + spending more time in your Zone of Genius.
Let me know how it goes, or if you’ve changed your life in 15 minute increments. Leave a comment below, and check back, for I always reply.
All my love,
XO
Rachel Claire
