What is the gift you’re meant to give? What are you here for?
We all have a unique gift to share with the world- a song to sing! If we’re stuck in bad mood, or negative thoughts are looping in our mind, or we’re focusing on things that feel bad- we’re not going to be able to thrive + truly share our heart or our art with the world.
So, what’s in the way? Are we choosing to focus on better feeling thoughts, or do we think life sucks + is out to get us?
Einstein posed it best:
“I think the most important question facing humanity is, ‘Is the universe a friendly place?’ This is the first and most basic question all people must answer for themselves.
If we heed his wisdom, we see that we have a choice, a way to CHOOSE to look at life + the universe.
Abraham Hicks says it this way:
Everything is always working out for me.
Once we choose to see the universe as loving, and we cultivate belief that everything is always working out for us, we begin to change our energy, our mood, our flow- our vibration…and along with that, our whole life transforms.
We all struggle with mindset. Whether we’re combatting patterns from past lives, or in utero, or 40 years of negative thinking- we all can slip into listening to and believing our Monkey Mind.
But don’t believe everything you think. Don’t think that because it passes through your awareness that it’s true!
And for the love of all that is HOLY don’t spend time on it if it’s not an empowering or delightful thought!
We’d all do well to ignore what’s happening on the screen of our life and focus internally on how we want to feel. That can change everything and influence all outcomes.
What’s manifested is only a representation of PAST thinking. C’est la vie.
To change your mindset, here are 3 easy steps:
- Read every day and listen to inspiring texts
- Move your body
- Get lots of sleep
If you start with ensuring that those 3 are in place, you’ll do just fine.
Readers are leaders. Brainwash yourself with inspiring texts + learn. Get creative and inspired + let yourself be led by art!
I tell my clients, if you’re in a funk, or having negative thoughts- don’t do anything!
It’s better to just go for a walk, take a nap, read a book- let it all go.
Trying to force something will never get us what we want. There’s too much resistance.
We can’t create something wonderfully fulfilling from a place of mad, sad, frustrated, etc.
So, get in the habit of listening to inspiring things or reading great books. There’s so much to learn!
Brainswash yourself. Have your “go-to” people or texts that lift you higher!
Move Your Body
If we dance, walk, hike, kick-box it out- we’ll move the energy + inspiration flows. When I’m on a bike, a hike, or even the elliptical, man, I have SO many ideas!
Again, when we’re struggling mentally, we have to work on the basic needs- get outside, look at the sky, be inspired by the vastness of it all and take some deep breaths. Then, just walk around the block!
Get Lots of Sleep
Having an almost 4 year-old daughter, I’ve learned a lot about lack of sleep and what impact it can have on my mood.
It’s clear to me that I can’t be the kind of mama I want to be if I’m tired. My fuse is shorter. I don’t like sound- can’t stand noise, don’t like bright light.
So, though I’ve always been a night-owl, I now make sure that I use my blue-light glasses at night, drink my calm, and take a melatonin if I need to, and have all tech off by 10.
Then, I’m in bed no later than 11 p.m.
Go to bed earlier. Get more sleep. Invest in blue light blocking glasses- it’ll help your sleep.
Make sure you have no light in your room. Get darker blinds.
Do whatever you have to do to ensure that you’re setting yourself up for success. This extends into what you’re eating, drinking and all that jazz too, but if you’re struggling with mindset, start with the basic human needs + take good care of you!
