For years now in my business I get on the phone each week with women from all over the world and talk with them about their spiritual gifts + their dreams for a business and what’s stopping them from truly reaching their goals.

There are common themes that I see with most people I talk to.

If you’re new and growing a spiritual business online, you’re likely making these mistakes, too, and they could kill your biz.

5 Mistakes You’re Likely Making in Your Spiritual Business

  • Not investing in yourself or your business.

When we’re first starting out, we often have fear about whether or not it will work. We’re lacking the confidence that comes with experience. So, we try to cut corners.

We consume free content and tell ourselves that when we’re finally making some money, we’ll start to invest. However, it doesn’t work that way. The truth is, we have to be willing to invest up front, first.

Money loves speed. Money loves to be spent. It likes to flow.

When we have FAITH in money and God and the Universe that it will support + sustain us, then we aren’t so tight with our money. We trust that what goes out will return. So, we invest. And, we receive a return on that investment.

Taking the action of spending money on a new coach, or a service, or a course, to help us grow our business is a smart idea. It will get us where we want to go faster. The thing is, there’s a lot to learn online + we don’t know what we don’t know...so having an expert guide us is priceless.

So, invest in your business.

Treat it like a business. And know, that you’re actually investing in yourself, in right-livelihood and in your future.

Also, trust that the universe will respond to your actions taken in good faith.

  • Starting with the wrong business model

When we’re just starting out, we’re happy to get clients. 1:1 seems like a great model + we’ll take anyone! We often undercharge as well. So, soon enough, we realize we’re in an unsustainable pickle. We have to be chained to our desks, working 1:1 and even if we booked our calendar SOLID, we likely couldn’t reach our income goals.

So, we begin to look for more sustainable models of business so that we can leverage our time and grow.

When I started out, and for a long time, I just worked 1:1 with clients. However, after my daughter was born, I had to figure out a way to continue to work with clients but not be working all the time.

I found a model that works for me- where I can actually work less + make more.

The largest portion of my income comes from my Miracles Manifest Mastermind. This is where I work with women for high-ticket prices. It has solved so many of my problems!

I attract committed, motivated women who are willing to invest + treat their business like a business. They generate value for themselves + they are happy to spend whatever it costs to work with me + learn from me.

I’ve eliminated the “can kickers” people who aren’t that serious, aren’t committed to making changes, and aren’t ready to grow their businesses + expand to a new level.

This means I can have fewer clients, but still earn a healthy income.

So, even if you’re just starting out, consider creating a signature program at a premium price point. This sets you up with a sustainable business model that can easily grow over time. You’re also positioning yourself as a premium brand.

  • You Have No Systems

When I first started, I was just waiting for people to buy my readings right off my site. And, if they did, then I would email them to set up a time + go back + forth. I had no process, no systems in place to make it smooth, seamless + easy for clients to book. Therefore, I came across as unprofessional.

I soon learned that EVERY touch point you have with a client matters.

You want to impress, connect, please- at every possible contact point.

That means that you need systems in place! This means that certain processes are systematic + automatic.

We skip this part in the beginning because again, we’re being cheap. We’re feeling fear around $ so we cut corners. We think we can wait to go PRO until after we have cash rollin’ in. Again, this is WRONG.

The opposite is true.

Cash rolls in once we invest in our biz, treat it like a real business + spend money on going PRO!

We have to be professional + care about the way our brand is received + perceived from our tribe.

Having a system is about having a recipe.

Once you have great systems, this can make it so you’re FREE to focus on other things.

My calendar gets booked up AUTOMATICALLY via my systems with clients curious about working with me.

I play with my daughter, work out, do yoga, go for walks + cook while my business works for ME.

Then, I can show up during my 10 work hours a week + serve my peeps!

  • You’re Stuck in the Blender of Your Own Mind

This is Rachel speak for: you have no practice, you’re not working on mindset, you’re not cleaning + clearing your space as a healer.

It’s VITAL that you have a practice that you do EVERY day that keeps you in integrity, movin’ and groovin!

Resistance is always lying and always full of shit. ~Stephen Pressfield

Our own mind will come in and sabotage the show.

We must have support containers in place as we update our operating systems. Coaches, mentors, sisters on the path, a Mastermind, these all help us when we’re raising our vibration + attempting to clear out-dated belief systems that no longer serve us.

Staying stuck happens when we go out of communication, we isolate + we try to go it alone.

Having accountability makes a world of difference.

  • You’re Not Paying for Traffic

When I was starting out in my business, and for YEARS following, I was making a crucial mistake.

I wasn’t paying for traffic.

For the longest time, I just kept blogging + posting on social media, and creating videos + hoping that would lead to the kind of income I required.

When I first started out, I did invest in B-School. There, I learned to be consistent, to set up an awesome website, and I got clear on a whole host of other things…but I never made much $

It wasn’t until I finally paid for FB Ads that I started to make real income in my business.

The thing is, it can take YEARS to rank in google, to get good SEO- and you have to blog + share consistently that WHOLE time, and it still my never actually work.

With advertising- you get eyes on your site + your offers. You find out if your free gifts or your offers actually work. You can test + tweak + get real results.

So, why don’t we?

Again, we’re afraid to invest. We think we’ll sink money. We don’t know how to run ads.

We had a bad experience so we quit.

I can’t say this too many times- now is an INCREDIBLE time to be an entrepreneur online.

You can grow a business with very little start up costs. You can reach ideal clients via Facebook.

In no time, and with as little as $5 a day, you can start to generate traffic to your offers + your site- which will let you know right away if your site is functioning as it should- which is as a LEAD GENERATING MACHINE.

The main point of a site is to CAPTURE LEADS.

If you’re not offering a free gift in exchange for an email, you’re leaving $$$ on the table.

Plus, peeps who find you + click away may lose you + forget about you FOREVER. That’s sad!

Get your site optimized for leads by having an opt-in bar in a prominent place on your site. (Above the fold.) So no one has to scroll.

Then, target those people, and re-target + you’ll grow your tribe of loyal fans who become friends + rave about you to others.

Okay, that’s a lot of info right there. Now, it’s your turn.

I’d love to hear from you. Leave me a comment below and let me know if you have any questions. I always check back. Also, implement some of these and let me know how it goes.
